Venues and Logging In |

A “Venue” is a place that you cue. It might be a club, a class, a festival, or a special dance. When DanceMaster (Advanced Edition) logs the dances you are cueing, it also records where you are cueing them. This way, it can tell you when and where you have cued a given dance, or what dances you have cued at a particular place.
The way to tell DanceMaster where you are is to “log in” on the main menu screen. The “Select Dances” button won’t show on the Main Menu screen until you do. You can select the venue by using the arrow to the right of the window. (Typing the first letter of the venue name THEN clicking the down-arrow will move the list to or near that venue so you don't have to scroll.) Or you can use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to scroll through the list. Then select a venue and DMP will show the “Select Dances” button. If the place you are cueing is not included in the list yet, you can add it using the “Venues” form (get there by clicking on the “Lists” button). You can choose one venue to be your 'default venue'. (Do this on the Venues form as mentioned above.) DMP will display this venue automatically on start-up, and you can select it by just pressing the <Enter> key, rather than scrolling through the list.
