This page describes the pull-down menus at the top of the Play screen. Options: Set “Mark As Played” threshold – When you play a dance, DanceMaster doesn’t necessarily consider it “Played” right away. This is because we often play a “sample” of the music as the dancers are getting up. But at some point, we want to record the fact that we have indeed played this dance both for dance logging, and for the Playlist screen. I couldn’t decide when a dance should be considered “Played”, so you get to do it. If you click this menu option, a little form will pop up to get your answer. If you set the threshold to 999, DanceMaster will consider it played only when it has played all the way through. Ask For Head Counts After Each Dance – In the Advanced version, when dance logging is set to “Dance” mode (as opposed to “Class” mode), DanceMaster will ask you how many people got up for this dance as soon as it has finished playing. It uses this information to help determine the dance’s popularity. If you don’t care about that, you can turn that feature off here. Turn Voice Cues off by default - Choose whether voice cues are enabled or not when a dance is loaded. Auto-Scroll on by default - Choose whether Karaoke Cues are enabled when you load a dance. Use Voice Introductions - If you record introductions with your cues ("This is a Phase 3 plus 1 waltz, the plus figure is a hover. We begin in closed line of dance.") then this option can enable or disable playing them. Use the F10 key as the intro is playing to tell DM where the intro ends and the dance begins. Tone Controls: This opens one of two screens where you can adjust the tone controls. You can raise or lower the bass and trebble for this dance only, or for all dances done at this hall. If you choose to make adjustments for the hall, you can adjust the recorded voice cues independently (as long as your voice cues are in a separate file - not in the left or right channel). Cue Sync Mode: Chooses whether to use Karaoke-style or Next Cue-style synchrnization. Karaoke is recommended. Reload Dance: This is handy if you make changes to this dance in another screen (such as Dance Details) and DMP doesn't notice. Clicking this will cause all your changes to be shown here. |
