Set up my Categories

Categories is (are?) a way of separating dances, just as Rhythm and Phase are.  If you assign dances to a category, such as "Christmas Dances", or "SD Rounds", or "Easy"/"Interesting"/"Meaty"/"Break The Floor Down" then you will have another way to quickly get at the dances you want.

Categories work independently of Rhythm and Phase, so for instance, in December you can apply the "Christmas Dances" filter, and your Select Screen will show only Christmas dances in whatever phase(s) and rhythm(s) you have selected.  Or, if you are at a square dance, apply the "SD Rounds" filter, and even with "All" rhythms and "All" phases selected, your screen won't be cluttered up with inappropriate dances.

You can assign as many as four categories to a dance, so the same dance can be in the "Easy", "Christmas", "Popular" and "ROQ" categories.

Because I have no idea what categories would work for you, you get to define them.  Go to the Main Menu, click "Lists", then "Categories" and add at least one category of your choosing.  If you spend a little time thinking about and defining categories, DM will become even more useful.
